Button-enquiry RGD-resistant materials

We have six 'flagship' grades of rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistant elastomer, each of which has been specifically developed for sealing duties in oil and gas production. Four of these grades - Elast-O-Lion® 101, FR25/90, FR58/90 and FR68/90 - are qualified to Norsok M-710 for RGD-resistance and sour gas ageing.

These highly specialised materials have been extensively in-house validated, and are tested, approved and specified by oilfield operators and equipment manufacturers. They are widely proven to overcome the problems associated with high-pressure gas systems and the damage experienced to seals when there is a rapid pressure drop.

  • Highly developed hydrogenated nitrile HNBR material.

  • Excellent resistance to oils and fuels.

Elast-O-Lion® 985

Compounded for low temperature duties

  • Well proven hydrogenated nitrile HNBR grade.
  • Operates efficiently at -55°C (-67°F).
  • Outstanding abrasion resistance.
  • Good RGD resistance in hydrocarbons. 

FR25/90

Low temperature capability

  • Fluoroelastomer FKM tetrapolymer based material.
  • Norsok M-710 qualified for RGD resistance & sour gas ageing.
  • Operates efficiently at down to -41°C (-42°F).
  • Well proven in oilfield applications.

FR58/90

Specified for many high-pressure gas duties

  • Based on DuPont™ Viton® fluoroelastomer (FKM) terpolymer.
  • Norsok M-710 qualified for RGD resistance and sour gas ageing.
  • Excellent thermal and chemical properties.
  • Widely approved and specified by operators and OEMs.

FR68/90 - RGD resistant
